CHELSEA FOOTBALL CLUB - HOME OF THE SEAGULLS

CHELSEA GRIT

1948 - FRANK PEARSON 'THE ROCK'

FRANK PEARSON
PRESIDENT
1940 - 1949
THE ROCK

With WWII looming, Frank found himself to be too old for acceptance into the armed forces and set about investing his energies into the local community through the football club.
As president he was able to lead the club through difficult and indeed tumultuous times. Along with his trusty secretary Ernie Boyd, Frank ensured  that the young men who were being exposed to daily tales of horror from the war front had some other activity to occupy their thoughts.
Councillor Frank Pearson was a quiet, unassuming man who supported the war effort in his own special way.
