Netball - Welcome to Chelsea

31 October 2026

Welcome Katie Fone

We could not be any more excited to have a new Gull joining us.

Please welcome KATIE FONE to Chelsea!!

Katie is an elite mid court player who can dominate all 3 positions in WA, C & WD. Her speed, pinpoint drives and relentless work rate make her a middy any team would be lucky to have.

Katie has represented both Peninsula Waves & Gippsland Stars at VNL and was part of Stars 2025 inaugural Championship team. Her value was recognised early being re-signed for 2026, and now 2027 also.

Aside from her incredible on court ability which will be a huge asset for us in 2027, she is a lovely person. Team first, supporting her team mates and always lifting up those around her. In 2026 she won Best Club Person for Gippsland Stars.

Katie will be known across the MPFNL as she joins us from Rosebud following multiple successful seasons, finals and grand final experience.

Let’s all give Katie a HUGE welcome

Welcome Caitlin Sweeney

Our attack end is looking sharp for season 2027 with the addition of young gun CAITLIN SWEENEY!!

We are really excited about Caitlin joining the A grade team next season.

Caitlin has been a consistent performer across talent academy and state titles programs and brings great goaling accuracy with her to the Gulls.

She has been part of the VNL pathway since 2024 with Peninsula Waves and played at A grade level for the past few seasons where she has proven to be a reliable shooter, who gets the job done with no fuss. She’s an up and coming player who gives the team great depth as a here and now performer, as well as huge future potential for growth.

Caitlin is an exciting prospect for the club and we look forward to welcoming her as a Gull for the upcoming season. She will work considerable well in the ring with Georgia Hernan and our other goaler to be announced in the coming days who we have no doubt everyone will be familiar with and pumped about.

Welcome Caitlin!!

Welcome Tayla Furborough

We are excited to welcome a fantastic player to our line up for 2027… TAYLA FURBOROUGH!!

Tayla has played majority of her footy netball in the Ovens & Murray League where she was known as a solid shut down defender who is absolutely ruthless in her 1:1 pressure and hustle.

Tayla has played the last couple of years at Champ level VNL and will again be playing VNL at Southern Saints in 2027.

Tayla brings a wealth of experience to the Gulls that will complement our already strong defence end to really take it to the next level, while bringing a fresh and positive attitude.

Welcome Tayla, we look forward to seeing you dominate!
